Citation Release Pilot in the Third District
In 2012, PSA collaborated with D.C. Superior Court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department to develop a pilot program in the Third Police District that provides enhanced screening of defendants released on citation for diversion, including deferred prosecution, deferred sentencing, Drug Court, and Mental Health Community Court.
