Research and Evaluation
PSA has a strong interest in supporting research-driven policy and program development and considers the efforts of independent researchers as a valuable resource. Research and evaluation projects serve a valuable purpose by assessing the effectiveness of PSA efforts to carry out its mission and contribute to the knowledge available in the field of pretrial justice and community supervision.
PSA conducts limited research and evaluation internally, but sponsors various projects with external independent researchers. PSA also encourages periodic program evaluation and other policy-related research by both employees and non-employees who meet the qualifications of our Agency policy and pending full review the CSOSA/PSA Research Review Committee.
PSA’s research and evaluation efforts are in the following areas:
- Organizational management
- Risk assessment
- Supervision
